Lookout Mountain — Framed Woven Tapestry
Hello mountains. Goodbye flatlands. Or in my case, it was goodbye mountains + hello flatlands. Depending on which way you are headed, Lookout Mountain is the first (or last) glimpse of the Rocky Mountains just outside of Denver. When I snapped this photo, I remember wishing I knew how to paint. This picturesque scene was a beautiful reminder that there are no mountains without valleys, and even in the valleys, there is beauty all around. So, for the reimagined #photostofibers collection, I drew inspiration from this photo I took during a really tough transitional season in life as a welcome reminder that plot twists can be unexpectedly beautiful — sometimes they simple require a different vantage point.
I set out to paint with fiber this breathtaking view by mixing all the deep + subtle greens, blues + neutrals, within a beautiful light wooden frame.
